Rockville Fencing Academy offers a great variety of camps.
We offer the camps in multiple skill levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Competitive) and offer Half Day or Full Day options. The campers are guided my Rockville Fencing Academy's professional staff lead by Coaches Aklesso,& Stu. Enjoy researching our options.
Rockville Fencing Academy's Camp Beginning Program is a great way to get started with fencing. No experience or equipment is required. Our Beginning Camps offer over 13 hours of foil fencing in one week. The camps teach the basics of fencing: focusing on the mental, physical & strategic aspects of the sport, while providing a good aerobic workout. By the end of the week, students will be able to fence, referee bouts, and have enough skill to participate in intermediate level fencing.
The program includes use of a foil, mask and fencing jacket. You will need a glove for the hand that holds the foil. Any thin glove that covers the entire hand is fine, e.g., gardening glove, batting glove, golf glove. RFA sells fencing-specific gloves.
Proper dress for fencing is a t-shirt, athletic pants (no jeans or outdoor pants with cargo pockets, or shorts), and sneakers with non-marking soles.
Rockville Fencing Academy's Intermediate Camp Program
is a great way to take your fencing to the next level. The camps entail over 13 hours of foil fencing in one week and focus on training the mind of the fencer thru drilling, critique bouting and strategy work. The fencer will notice greatly improved integration between the bladework and footwork skills they have previously learned.
Rockville Fencing Academy's Competitive Camp Program
Rockville Fencing Academy competitive camps look to train up the athlete. It is run on a much more physically demanding level that is required to be a successful competitive fencer. The camps entail over 13 hours of foil fencing in one week. The Competitive Camp will also focus on the strategic set up for the moves, and give each fencer individual feedback via critique bouting.
