Rockville Fencing Academy (RFA) is a premier fencing school in the D.C. Metropolitan Area. We have a fine facility – over 5,000 square feet of space centrally located in Rockville City – and offer a wide selection of programs ranging from beginning fencing classes to individual competitive instruction.
Fencers of all levels are welcome at Rockville Fencing Academy. Our many levels of instruction progress from classes for novice fencers who are looking for a fun, recreational workout, to training at the local and national levels for fencers interested in becoming serious competitors. In addition RFA provides a friendly atmosphere that encourages every fencer to develop good sportsmanship and a positive attitude.
A lifelong sport, fencing offers many benefits, such as an aerobic workout, improved athleticism, and fast-paced mental challenge. Fencers from the recreational to Olympic levels also enjoy the opportunity to excel at an individual sport with the camaraderie of a club setting.

Rockville Fencing Academy is designed for students from 7 to 70+ who want to find out about fencing and then would like to have fencing be a part of their lives. Our goal is to create students who enjoy dedicating their time and energy to the sport.
Parents will find that fencing offers their child all of the advantages of a martial art, such as discipline and focus. The fun and unique individuals of all ages at Rockville Fencing make excellent friends and role models. In addition, competitive kids can participate in youth tournaments at regional and national levels in separate events for ages 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, and under 16.
Adult fencers have the opportunity to develop a new skill while enjoying a complete aerobic workout. At the end of hard day of work, nothing is more energizing than a good fencing bout. For competitive adults fencing is an excellent sport, since it offers the opportunity to compete in open and age restricted competitions at local, regional and national levels.
In Coach Stuart's over 25 years of coaching, he has coached fencers from 6 to over 70 years old. Some just have enjoyed fencing at a club while others have been medal winners at local, regional, national, and international competitions.
